Specially Trained Horses for TV & Film

Dolbadarn Film Horses can comfortably supply horses for small and large productions alike – we have our own stable of trained horses, and with over forty years in the industry we have a network of horsemasters around the UK.

Our horses represent a variety of breeds, sizes and colours, are suitable for a wide range of film and TV roles, and our stable includes horses specially trained in the following skills:

• Principal actor trained / safe horse – a kind and generous horse suitable for mounted actors on set, these horses have had years of training to ensure their calm nature.
• Stunt and action horses – these horses are fully trained action performers that can charge into a battle scene, run through a wall of fire and rear up on command, as well as ride in jousting contests and pull chariots and wagons.
• Fully trained trick and Liberty horses – these horses can bow and lie down on command, this category includes liberty horses, a horse that is trained from the ground (without a rider) that can perform tasks without a rider.
